A 1st look can be special, unique, & precious! But is it for you?
The first look is such a special moment for a couple. It is a moment when they get to see each other for the first time in their dress wear for their big day. This magical and intimate moment should be perfect for you!
As a photographer, I think that first looks are amazing! They are intimate, moving, and full of emotion. They allow the couple to maximize their time by being able to take portraits before the ceremony. However, when a couple prefers to keep to the tradition of seeing each other down the aisle for the first time, it is just as sweet and momentous. I have seen many grooms cry at both the first look and when his bride is walking down the aisle.
Below you will see the Pros & Cons of having a First Look:
- Being able to have the first look wherever you would like, wether it be in a forest, on a pier in the middle of a lake, or in your reception hall
-You and your fiancé are able to have several moments together in private, or you with your friends
-Many of the pictures are very intimate and loving
-You are able to schedule all your portraits before the wedding
-Many brides and grooms do not feel as anxious or stressed
You are able to enjoy cocktail hour with your guests
-A first look is very set-up by your photographer who is trying to get shots of each part of the moment
-It is theorized that the first look loses the impact of a groom seeing his bride walking down the aisle
-Your day may need to start earlier
